Basic Tune Up
- Cleaning and Lubrication:
- The mechanic will thoroughly clean your bike, especially the drivetrain (chain, cassette, and chainrings) to remove dirt and grime.
- They will then apply fresh lubricant to the chain and other moving parts to ensure smooth operation.
- Brake Adjustment:
- Brake levers and calipers will be checked and adjusted to ensure proper braking power and responsiveness.
- Gear Adjustment:
- The mechanic will fine-tune the derailleur (front and rear) to ensure smooth and accurate shifting.
- Wheel Truing:
- If your wheels are out of true (have wobbles or hops), the mechanic will straighten them using a truing stand.
- Tire Pressure Check and Adjustment:
- Tire pressure will be checked and adjusted to the recommended PSI for optimal performance and comfort.
- Other Checks:
- The mechanic will inspect other components like the headset, bottom bracket, and pedals for any issues and make necessary adjustments.
- They will also check for any loose bolts or other safety concerns.
